Erin Rose Ward
"Erin Rose Ward is an embodiment facilitator, writer, and mentor devoted to helping people come home to themselves through movement, presence, and the deep intelligence of the body. She is the founder of The Refuge, a living ecosystem of practices, gatherings, and mentorship rooted in nervous system awareness, spiritual inquiry, and creative expression. Her work bridges the worlds of dance, strength training, yoga, somatics, and storytelling, guiding individuals and communities into a more intimate, compassionate relationship with their inner life.
With over 15 years of studying yoga philosophy, Buddhist teachings, and devotional practice, Erin’s approach is both poetic and practical. Her work is deeply informed by contemplative traditions that honor awareness, compassion, and the path of the heart as central to healing and transformation. She is known for creating spaces that are at once grounded and expansive—where participants can sweat, breathe, write, feel, and remember who they are beneath the noise of modern life. Whether leading The 360 Emergence dance practice, committed meditation cohorts, or holding counsel circles, her offerings are designed to support people in regulating their nervous systems, deepening self-trust, and living from what she knows as “the path of the heart.”
Erin works one-on-one with clients in long-term mentorship containers that support emotional, spiritual, physical, and existential growth. She also hosts seasonal retreats, immersive workshops, and communal ceremonies that align with natural cycles such as solstices and equinoxes. Her gatherings are multi-sensory experiences that often include live music, poetry, journaling, ritual, and communal reflection. She believes that healing and transformation happen most powerfully in community, where people are witnessed in their humanity and invited into deeper belonging.
A writer at heart, Erin shares essays, reflections, and poetic teachings that explore love, grief, resilience, devotion, and the body’s role in our becoming. Her voice is intimate and honest, shaped by her own journey through uncertainty, reinvention, and the ongoing practice of listening inward. She sees storytelling as an essential part of healing.
Erin’s teaching is informed by a wide range of influences, from somatic experiencing and nervous system education to spiritual mentorship, movement traditions, and years of facilitating group experiences. Yet what makes her work distinct is not a method, but a presence. Participants often describe feeling deeply seen, safely challenged, and gently guided toward truths they already carry within.
At the heart of everything Erin offers is a simple invitation: slow down, feel what is here, and allow the body to lead. She believes that when people reconnect with their embodied wisdom, they naturally move toward lives of greater integrity, creativity, love, and the pull toward being of service to one another. "
