OUR TEAM

  • Founder of OM

Sam Grout is the founder of OM and a seasoned facilitator of immersive transformational experiences. A sixth-generation Vermonter, Sam grew up in the Green Mountains before spending years in Seattle, San Diego, Boston, and Miami—immersed in the fast-paced worlds of tech and luxury hospitality.

That journey taught her something invaluable: the noise of constant connectivity and the toll of burnout are real. But so is the power of returning home—to the land, to community, and to oneself.

For four years, Sam has gathered communities in the Green Mountains of Vermont—creating a container for yoga, movement, music, and connection that has drawn light workers, healers, and seekers from across the country. What she learned is this: the practices that heal and uplift are not just for the few. They are essential for everyone—especially those carrying the weight of constant connectivity, high-stakes decisions, and the relentless pace of modern leadership.

With over 20 years of experience teaching yoga, Sam has guided leaders from some of the world's most iconic companies—helping them find clarity, resilience, and balance through movement and mindfulness. Her unique approach to women's retreats, blending fly fishing and yoga, was featured in Yoga Journal, a testament to her ability to create transformative experiences that bridge the outdoors and inner stillness.

Sam is a Certified Trainer in Legendary Hospitality and a graduate of a leading corporate emotional intelligence program, where she deepened her understanding of how EQ impacts teams, leadership, and personal fulfillment. She is a skilled presenter and trainer on emotional intelligence—the essential skill that research shows matters more than IQ for success, resilience, and authentic connection.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist and Clinical Aesthetician, Sam brings a deep understanding of the body's healing capacity—from the surface of the skin to the depths of the nervous system. This unique combination of credentials allows her to curate experiences that nurture the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

Today, Sam's work has deepened. Her offerings now include somatic movement, breathwork, cold immersion, and curated community experiences—all designed to help leaders, creatives, and professionals unplug, reset, and return to their lives with renewed energy and clarity.

Sam's vision is to create experiences that go beyond the ordinary—where transformation is felt, integration is supported, and the journey becomes a personal evolution. She brings all of her understanding back to her hometown of Arlington, Vermont, where she curates intimate retreats for those who need to remember what matters.

  • Co-Founder of The OM and the owner of the West Mountain Inn. A native of Arlington, Vermont, Amie grew up in the Green Mountains before heading west to Duke University, where she graduated and began her career in the San Francisco Bay Area.

After years in Palo Alto—immersed in the fast-paced energy of Silicon Valley—Amie felt the pull of home. She returned to Vermont to take the helm of the West Mountain Inn, a historic property nestled on 175 acres in her hometown.

For most of the year, the Inn is alive with the joy of weddings and celebrations—Amie's warm, steady presence making every event feel effortless and deeply personal. But once a year, she opens the Inn for something different: The OM Retreat.

Amie's calm, grounded energy is the perfect counterbalance to the busy, high-stakes lives of the executives who come to OM. Her quiet confidence and genuine care create a container where guests can finally exhale. As one guest put it: "Amie makes you feel like you've come home—even if you've never been here before."

As co-founder, Amie brings her deep roots in the community, her operational expertise, and her passion for hospitality to every aspect of OM. She is the heart of the Inn, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed, nurtured, and deeply cared for.

  • Co-Founder Emerita and the Marketing & Social Media Lead for The OM Retreat. A native of Arlington, Vermont, Sarah grew up in the Green Mountains before living across the USA—but her roots always remained in Vermont.

An accomplished writer, designer, and creative visionary, Sarah has spent over 24 years honing her craft as a "visual translationist"—helping clients bring their stories to life with clarity, beauty, and intention. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to natural health, alternative healing, and authentic expression.

Sarah's interest in wellness began at birth, raised by a mother who was far ahead of her time—an intuitive and an herbalist. Her personal journey of awakening and self-awareness has been a lifelong exploration, peeling away layers through a rich mix of modalities and experiences.

That journey brought her back to Arlington—and back into contact with her childhood friend, Sam Grout. Reconnecting, they realized they shared a common vision: to create spaces where people could find community, connection, and healing.

Sarah was a Co-Founder of OM for the first two years, helping to shape its early vision and energy. Today, she continues to lend her creative genius to OM as our Marketing and Social Media Lead—bringing her unique voice, her design expertise, and her unwavering commitment to truth and goodness to everything she touches.

Sarah believes deeply in the power of gathering, the magic of the Green Mountains, and the simple truth that when we build with heart and intention, the right people will arrive.

  • Talent Coordinator & Music Programmer & Website / Branding

Headliner, Workshop Facilitator & Agent of the Earth School

John Francis Coughenour, known artistically as Cornflower, is a genre-bending vocalist, live-looper, beatboxer, and community weaver whose work lives at the intersection of music, movement, and embodied presence. His roots are planted in the Appalachian foothills of Tennessee, though his path has carried him across North America in service of music as a tool for connection, healing, and awakening.

As a self-taught sound alchemist with nearly a decade of experience on Ecstatic Dance floors, festival stages, and ceremonial spaces, John has cultivated a musical language that moves fluidly from stillness into ecstatic expression and back again. His performances are fully improvised, all-vocal journeys that invite deep listening, collective rhythm, and authentic human connection.

John’s work extends beyond the stage. As Talent Coordinator and Music Programmer, he serves as a bridge between artists, organizers, and the greater vision of the gathering, helping curate lineups that feel both intentional and alive. His approach centers integrity, collaboration, and the belief that when the right people are brought together in the right container, something larger than any individual can emerge.

His path into this role has been shaped by years of personal exploration through music, meditation, community ritual, and service-based leadership. What began as a personal inquiry into presence and expression has evolved into a devotion to building spaces where people can remember who they are together.

Stepping into his role as an Agent of the Earth School, John is honored to support the transmission of music, wisdom, and embodied learning through festivals, workshops, and shared experiences. He believes deeply in the power of gathering, the intelligence of the body, and the simple truth that when we create with heart and intention, the people who are meant to be there will arrive.

John is grateful to be on this path, in this role, and in service to the music, and the OM community.

  • Social Media Manager

Victoria believes that the most powerful thing anyone can do is take up space. As a self-taught graphic designer, photographer, and videographer, she has turned that philosophy into a visual craft, capturing the vibrant energy of the yoga community through a lens of inclusivity and empowerment.

Her journey into the digital space is driven by a "learn-by-doing" spirit, allowing her to bridge the gap between technical storytelling and authentic human connection. Whether she is behind the camera capturing a sunset flow or designing the festival’s visual identity, Victoria’s work is rooted in the belief that the benefits of yoga and the beauty of nature should be accessible to all.

Victoria is a RYT-200 and Reiki Master. This deep understanding of the practice informs every reel she edits and every graphic she creates, ensuring the festival’s digital presence remains grounded and intentional.

When she isn’t building community online, you’ll likely find her recharging in the woods—Victoria is a firm believer in the healing power of the earth and never misses an opportunity for a good tree hug.
