Kirby Olson
Bio: —
Mr. Kirby Olson is a native of Arlington, Vermont. The town of Arlington is nestled between the Green Mountain Range (The spine of Vermont) to the East and the Taconic Range to the West. Arlington is a small town of approximately 2100 full time residents and in 1777 was the Capital of the Republic of Vermont. Arlington is well known for its rugged mountain ranges, two Red Covered Bridges and the home of artist Norman Rockwell who resided in West Arlington from 1939 to 1953. The town of Bennington lies South and has a rich history related to the War of Independence (see: The Green Mountain Boys) and to the North, Manchester, a vibrant town of old hotel’s, restaurants, and shopping. Kirby, coming from a large blended family of seven, spent many years exploring the Green Mountain National Forest (GMNF) and Taconic Range southern regions. As an avid deer hunter, “The Greens” are his passion. Recently completing his second retirement, US Army First Sergeant (Retired, 2007) 21 years and 17.5 years (Retired, 2024) in Civil Service as a Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor, Federal Mediator, Facilitator and Trainer, Kirby felt it was time to get back to his roots. His experience and knowledge of the Greens offers a unique perspective for people who just want to get away to hear nature, see nature, and unplug for a day.
