Dana Kaplan

Dana is an E-RYT 500, a Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher, and a Mantra Artist whose passion is to bring people together in love and joy! In her Yummy Yin classes, Dana supports students in finding stillness, patience, acceptance and compassion for themselves while “holding” the passive poses to release connective tissue, allowing for greater range of motion in the body. You will be treated to a musical mantra shavasana to allow you to settle more completely into BEing.

In her creatively inspired Laughter Yoga classes, Dana will guide you into playfulness. When we allow ourselves to be playful like children, the laughter naturally flows from us like a fountain! Laughter Yoga is for Every Body and is a fun and powerfully healing practice that is proven to reduce stress, boost the immune system while fostering positive, loving, compassionate & accepting attitudes NMW (No Matter What)! Laughter Yoga is about creating more JOY in our lives. Dana particularly loves the way all barriers of separation melt away as we connect to one another at a heart level, deeply perceiving our oneness…This is, after all, the true meaning of yoga.

Dana has been sharing her powerful and soulful singing voice since she played Peter Pan in pre-school at the age of 4, but it wasn’t until she was introduced to KIRTAN in 2009 that she began to connect authentically to her voice. Chanting sacred names and mantras has been and continues to be not only a vital part of her spiritual practice and growth, but also the nectar that opens her heart to the Infinite. Being able to share her practice with community for the benefit of all is her greatest honor and joy.

Over the years, Dana has been blessed to study with David Newman, Jai Uttal, Girish, Sean Johnson, Yvette Om, Ian Boccio and her Guruji, Pandit Nandkishor Muley. Dana artfully combines ancient, Eastern Sanskrit names & mantras with original, contemporary Western music. As part of her efforts to bring more Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of Devotion) to her local community in Central Florida, Dana hosts the intimate Goddess Rising: A Shakti Kirtan Celebration! MLK weekend (usually!) at her home in Longwood, FL, just outside of Orlando. This is an entire afternoon and evening of chanting which features some of your favorite female kirtan artists. Jai Ma!
